Welcome to this, the 34^th edition of CSE, a Scopus registered (E-ISSN 2426-1335) magazine which provides the following benefits:

CIGRE continues to advertise selected papers on LinkedIn and X (ex-Twitter) feeds allowing access to the papers from your device wherever you are and whenever you wish to read it.

The number of papers per edition will vary depending on the papers submitted as well as the review process and acceptance of the papers. The papers included in CSE are all rigorously reviewed by selected experts in CIGRE. Many papers are rejected as not being up to standard or technically lacking in some respect. Authors who have their papers accepted can indeed be proud of this achievement and rest assured that the paper will withstand any further scrutiny from readers.

In this edition we are proud to publish 6 excellent papers. Four of which have been selected as best papers from the recent CIGRE Paris Session. The other authored paper deals with IBR and energising remote generation stations. An important paper on health effects relating to HVDC transmission is presented. This is compiled from work performed by a Working Group in SC C3. The Working Group consists of medical doctors and engineers and can be used as a reference document. The best papers were selected based on the direction of the future grid and cover protection, nuclear generation, grid forming technology and substation resilience.

As can be seen from the above the papers are all extremely relevant covering a wide range of topics. I would urge readers to reference these papers wherever possible to benefit the authors and increase the Scopus rating of the journal.
