This edition continues to exhibit the “Best of” papers for the CIGRE Paris conference as well as the symposium held in Canada. These papers are the top papers selected by the Special Reporters and Study Committee chairpersons from the papers selected for publication in the latest Paris session held in August 2024. These papers have not only been through a rigorous review process prior to acceptance in Paris and Canada but have also been subjected to discussion and contributions in the Group Discussion meetings. They have then been selected from the many papers submitted. As such the papers are of exceptional quality and relevance.
Due to the high number of excellent papers presented it was decided to publish 2 papers from each Study Committee. This enables latest information from two preferential subjects to be published allowed wide exposure to the CIGRE community. As there were too many papers for one edition, it was decided to spread the papers over 2 or 3 editions.
The papers cover a wide range of topics covering the entire ambit of CIGRE activities from rotating machines to material science. In addition, the Canadian best papers are published, one is the best paper overall and the second the best Next Generation Network paper. This indicates the high standard of the upcoming engineers who are active in CIGRE.
There are two refereed papers submitted by authors for review. The first deals with modelling and parameter determination of HVDC cables and the second deals with the modelling of drag coefficients for conductors.
All these papers are of the highest quality having been reviewed thoroughly and selected by peers for publication. The wide range of topics should enable readers to delve into the issues and latest developments being experienced in all aspects of power delivery.
CIGRE continues to advertise selected papers on LinkedIn feed allowing access to the papers from your device wherever you are and whenever you wish to read it.
